Becoming Bea {a Litfuse Book Review}

Becoming-Bea-e1407450752547About the Book: Can Bea and Ben Turn Rivalry Into Romance?

Beatrice Zook knows God wants her to learn patience toward others. When assisting a family overwhelmed by triplets proves surprisingly successful, her confidence in dealing with others, both young and old, grows.

One person she’ll never be able to find peace with though is Ben Rupp. They’ve known each other forever, and Ben understands precisely how to antagonize her. What neither she nor Ben will admit is that beneath all their bickering, attraction awaits. When friends decide to try and bring the couple together, will the pair be able to find true love? Or will they damage their relationship beyond repair?

My Review: It was nice to drop by Lancaster County again and visit some old friends. I’ve actually missed a book in the series so the character Beatrice was new to me.

I love Leslie’s awkward characters. I don’t know how else to put it but I was completely drawn in to the story of Beatrice finding her way.

Beatrice is a misunderstood introvert who has been deeply hurt by Ben. Ben didn’t mean to hurt her but it would help if he told her that. Throw in Beatrice’s extrovert sister who truly loves her younger sibling and the chance to find what she is made of by helping to care for triplets.

I enjoyed this book so much that I read day and night. When I was actually supposed to be doing other things. It was a page turner for me and I was looking for more. Can I admit that reading this book made me want to hold a baby too?

I have to back up in the series and read the one about Beatrice’s sister before this. You can totally read this book as a stand alone but why should you? You will enjoy all of Leslie’s books so start at the beginning of the Courtship of Lancaster County Series.

If you love Amish fiction that’s not so cut and dry and babies, must love babies, you’ll really enjoy this read. Leslie is an excellent author.
