Mini Cleaning Kits for Different Areas of Your Home Print E-mail

cleaner and sponge

If you have to walk a fair distance to pick up cleaning supplies each time you want to clean an area of your home maybe it’s time to put together a few mini cleaning kits to make the job go faster and thereby consume less of your time.

So it makes great sense to pull together a couple of cleaning solutions, tools, and a cleaning cloth or two to do quick cleans throughout your week and day.
While there are some great cleaning kits out there chances are they are a bit pricey when you are about to make a few mini cleaning kits for different areas of your home.

Try pulling together your own cleaning kit from a few well thought out purchases. These days you can find cleaning concentrates most anywhere. Just add water and you have a basic cleaner for a fraction of the price.

Another important ingredient for the bathroom and kitchen cleaning are the ever innovative microfiber cloths. These can do a good job of cleaning only using water. You can also use non-bleach containing cleaners with these. The micro fibers give a good scrub.

Since I usually have a microfiber cloth in each mini cleaning kit it only makes sense to grab a multi-pack of these cloths.

Don’t spend a lot of money putting these kits together. Pick up caddy’s to hold your supplies in your local dollar store.

Here are a few sample ideas of mini cleaning kits to get you started.

Bathroom Quick Clean Kit
  • Microfiber cloths
  • Disinfectant
  • Toilet Brush and Cleaner
Kitchen Quick Clean Kit
  • Microfiber Cloths
  • Sink Scrub
  • Degreaser
Upstairs Quick Clean Kit
  • Disposable Wipes
  • Dust Cloth
  • Microfiber Cloth
Downstairs Quick Clean Kit
  • Dust Cloth
  • Disposable Cleaning Cloths (mini pack)
  • Furniture cream

Once you have them all together. Place these kits in an easy to grab area in or near the section they will clean. Ideal for the bathrooms is to place the kits in the lower cabinets. The upstairs and downstairs kits work well if placed in a central closet such as the linen cupboard or the coat closet.

And just in case you’re wondering I have 4 mini kits. 2 bathroom, a kitchen and an all purpose furniture one.
