Mother's Day Dinner Plans Print E-mail
Written by K Quinn

When Mother's Day rolls around, it's time to show moms just how special they are. Store-bought gifts and cards are nice, but they lack that personal touch. Something you put together and made just for Mom has much more sentimental value, and you don't have to spend much money on it.  Here are some special things you can do for Mother's Day...

A special brunch meal is always nice for Mother's Day and a great way to bring many generations together for one big celebration. The men and children of the family can pull together and make a great dinner from setup to cleanup.

The Mother's Day Brunch Menu

  • Taste of Home has got you covered with a Mother's Day Menu Planner. Pick your recipes and create a full menu plan just for Mother's Day.
  • Salmon Quiche recipe: We make this often for Sunday dinner and it is a favorite (from a girl who about 20 years ago wouldn't eat cheese). Add a bright salad and another side dish such as asparagus and you have a complete, delicious, filling meal.
  • Spinach Savory Pancakes: Delicious! Pancakes aren't just for breakfast. One's made with veggies and other not so traditional pancake ingredients make a scrumptious savory pancake that can be eaten any time of day.
  • Overnight Cinnamon Rolls:What's a brunch without a little something sweet? These overnight cinnamon rolls are sure to fit the bill. And since you make them the night before that leaves you with time on your hands for tending to other important matters.

Tips to Set The Mother's Day Atmosphere

  • Use flowers as a centerpiece for the dining table. Make it something the mother or mother's can take and keep as gifts.  A living plant is also very nice here.
  • Use your nicest cloth tablecloth.
  • Bring out the china. Emily Barnes once said it's a shame we don't use our china but so rarely (not a direct quote). Use that stuff you have been saving for a fancy occasion. This is it.
