Our homes can seem overwhelming. Every time you turn around there is something new to take care of. It can easily get out of hand and leave you frustrated. It can just as easily be remedied and everything taken care of at it’s appointed time.
How???Three simple schedules telling you what to take care of when.
Daily Schedule: A simple schedule of things to take care of each day to keep your home nice and tidy. This will usually include items such as making beds, washing dishes, recycling junk mail, sweep kitchen floor and tidy bathroom. This one is the easiest to make up. Write or print up a list of items you need to do each day to keep things tidy. Post it somewhere and check off as they are completed.
Weekly Schedule: Your weekly schedule, for the home that is, will have items you don’t necessarily have to take care of each day but if ignored will lead to bigger problems. Items such as washing bedding, clean kitchen, clean bathroom, vacuuming, dusting (although a real stickler could do these items more often). This list is also pretty easy to work up. A weekly print out with an item for each day. If I glance at mine it looks something like this Monday: clean bathrooms, laundry Tuesday: Clean kitchen, water plants (I have been known to forget) Wednesday:take care of office like items, bill paying, shredding, filing Thursday: I’ve implemented a baking day because I like to bake Friday: errands, vacuum whole house and wash bedding. My weekends are free from most house chores because of this simple list.
Occasional Cleaning Schedule: This is for can be for those bigger house cleaning jobs or cleaning jobs not done so often but it still makes sense to put them on a schedule so they are not forgotten. I mean items such as washing entry way mats, cleaning the oven, cleaning the garbage cans and so forth. This list can take a little longer to make up and even after you have made it up you may come upon things you need to add to it. The easiest way is to post these to-do’s to an annual calendar.
Three simple lists and you home is in tip top, company ready shape.
