Easy Three Cheese Pizza to the busy Holiday Season Rescue!
Even though it's the holiday season and there are lots of special dishes and holiday meals and parties, there are still those meals in-between all the festivities that you have to think about.
The meals to carry you through between all the activities. The tasty, hit the spot, from mom's kitchen meals. But ones that are easy for you to make too.
As we get ready to head out for the evening I need to make a quick dinner that we can enjoy. I need it to be easy and painless so I decided on pizza. Yes quick pizza. Using 3 cheeses.
Normally pizza takes me a little while with making the crust from scratch and whipping up all the ingredients and such. But if you have an easier crust recipe then it can go much faster and then you can just top it with what's in your fridge.
My 3 Cheese Easy Pizza starts with Miracle Bread dough (read a little more about that in a few sentences) and ends with Stella's Fontina cheese.
I had never tried Fontina cheese on my pizza before but it's soft mild, nutty flavor was a nice accompaniment to the old standbys mozzarella and parmesan.
I made a one hour pizza crust courtesy of the Miracle Dough ebook.
If you like bread, aren't on a gluten free diet, and like to whip up bread sticks, cinnamon rolls, and dinner buns in a hot minute for meals then you want this book.
Next I made some pizza sauce from scratch (see recipe below). And then chopped up some mushrooms and meat for my toppings. I forgot to sauce my peppers, who always make the pizza crust soggy, so I left them out this time and we had a salad to accompany our pizza. Like I was saying you can basically use what you have in the fridge.
For my 3 cheeses I used Mozzarella, Parmesan and Stella's Fontina. I had never heard of Fontina before but it added a nice nutty flavor to the pizza. It was delicious!
I've found Stella's cheeses at Fred Meyer in my area.
And then we were out the door for more frolic and fun!
