I’m taking the bull by the horns so to speak. I haven’t been getting along with breakfast for some time and I aim to rework that this year. Join me in my quest to find 52 Fresh Breakfast Ideas that don’t leave me feeling heavy or my family still hungry. We may revisit dishes you already know or find some new favorites but my goal for 2014 is a new appreciation for breakfast.

Am I late?

By my clock I have an hour and 15 more minutes to make it for this week’s Fresh Breakfast Idea.

Grocery Bags with Food

I’m just back from a vacation where vacation pics reveal I need to get really serious about losing weight.

As my aunt says, it’s time for WAR!

Yeah I have to wage war on my body.

I had actually cut back (as in not at all) on exercising and was pretty much stuffing my face when it came to eating. That is so not good.

What was once 10 pounds to lose has quickly ballooned to 20. This is so bad and means that many more clothes I can’t wear. I can’t have that!

So as I’m putting on my battle gear I have to be more intentional about breakfasts.

Meaning I have to take care what I eat. Portion sizes and content matter. I’m not into starving myself but I can do better.

{hang head in shame}

I have Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet Cookbook so I’m using it for some breakfast ideas. That includes amounts and recipes.

This week I tried Breakfast Burritos.

I like Breakfast Burritos because they are like little portable meals. The fillings are endless and they can even be portable.

In  Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet Cookbook I didn’t make them exactly as they do but they were tasty and filled me up after a hard hitting cardio/strength workout.

The original recipe uses chopped peppers and a few more veggies. I will probably try that in the future but this is what I did since I was crunched for time.

Here’s the recipe and you can even put them in the freezer for later!

To freeze for later wrap each tortilla in wax paper and put in freezer bag. When ready to cook just take it out of the bag and wax paper and heat.52-Weeks-Fresh-Breakfast
