I’m a Titus 2 Woman. Really? Write 31 Days

This entry is part 1 of 9 in the series Write 31 Days 2017

Welcome to my first post for Write 31 Days. I’m going to post this month on the theme

I’m going to post this month on the theme behind this blog. I think it’s gotten lost in years past and I would like to revisit it again. That means I may be a little all over the place but the idea remains the same.

I aim to pass on to you my Titus 2ness.

Oh wow! I felt truly honored to be approached twice to join a Titus 2 Women’s Group at church. I mean sure I love a clean home and I love having people over. I even gave my neighbor a quick pep talk this past week on keeping up with her housekeeping. But inspiring younger women in the spirit of Titus 2?

Grocery Bags with Food

Wow!

I have never thought of myself this way. Maybe because I still imagine I’m one of the younger women but somewhere along the way I became an aged women (grimace).

And somewhere along the way people began to notice that I had bits of wisdom to pass on (yay!). My husband has even had church members comment on my Titus 2ness. That’s kind of humbling and an honor. And it reminds me I’m being watched!

Let’s look at the scripture in case you have no idea what I’m talking about….

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,    To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. ~Titus 2:3-5 (KJV)

Okay let’s get past the part about “aged women”.

A Titus 2 Woman is a woman of God who is passing what she has learned on to the younger generation. They live Godly lives as well as they are able and do their best to be an encourager to the youger women looking to them.

I discovered this week, quite by accident, that I am being watched. I am on display. Not only by my daughter who looks to me more and more as she grows into a young woman, but also by the young women in my church. And the elder women who are looking for those to help mentor the younger.

People are looking at me and notice what I do. This puts me on notice to practice what I preach.  To care for those of my own house before I can offer advice to others. To practice, Titus 2.

We will be using this resource… Apples of Gold

I plan to dwell on this some more during this month.
