My husband and I aren't huge coffee drinkers so when we have guests over and try to offer them some coffee the results can be pretty hilarious (just take my word for it). We like the flavor we're just not very adept at making it.

Keurig® K-Duo EssentialsTM Coffee Maker Review. Make a single cup or a whole pot!

Recently Walmart sent us the newest Keurig® K-Duo EssentialsTM Coffee Maker to test out through #Momsmeet. This Keurig has both a single pod side and also a side to make a pot of coffee for more people.

My guests will be overjoyed!

We were also sent some Green Mountain coffee pods and Donut Shop Regular coffee pods. The Green Mountain came with both pods for the one shot side and a couple of bags of grounds for the carafe side (and coupons for my IRL friends so if you're one of those hit me up for a $3 off coupon).

This Keurig® K-Duo is a dream machine for coffee drinkers. You can easily pop in your favorite coffee and have a hot cup in just minutes.

My friends and family who own other Keurig models gave me all kinds of tips for the kind of coffee tastes best and how to clean (although I do read the manual).

Setting up the Keurig

The Keurig® K-Duo EssentialsTM Coffee Maker after being set up in it's home in my kitchen.
The Keurig all cleaned up and ready to go.

After unpacking all the goodies I got to work checking this dual purpose machine out.

First off let me say this Keurig® K-Duo EssentialsTM Coffee Maker wonderful! I can make so much stuff with this machine (like tea and hot water for one cup soup) but I know I'm supposed to be just making coffee so let me stick to that LOL!

For efficiency there is a big tank in the back that holds 60 ounces of water. Yay! So you aren't trying to fill just enough water for your cup or carafe it's already there. The machine pulls the needed amount from the tank.

The instructions were simple to follow so I was ready to go in no time. With the machine you can make an 8, 10 ,0r 12 ounce cup or a 8, 10, 0r 12 cup carafe. You press the oz. or the cups button depending up on if you are making one cup or the carafe and then choose the amount.

The water quickly heats up and then shoots it through the pod.

For the carafe that was painless as well. Since I don't regularly make coffee I was a little shocked to see how many grounds it takes for a pot! After their usage can I use them in the garden?

p.s.- I also made some coffee to use in my Texas Brownies recipe.

Lovin' My New Keurig

I can't really say much more than that about the Keurig® K-Duo EssentialsTM Coffee Maker. It was so super easy to set up! Awesome!

And now when I have guests over I can make a pot of coffee for the masses. The smallest amount the carafe will make is 8 cups. I do wish it could make 4 but I'm pretty sure my guests can put away 8 cups as well.

My husband had three cups of coffee the first day. For a person that drinks coffee not so often this probably wasn't a good idea but he had a good time and is now ready to dial it back a bit.

I'm enjoying the Keurig and switch between coffee or tea (you can get tea pods too) depending upon how I feel. I've been able to make one carafe and will be hosting some guest soon so I have a chance to make another. It's super easy and the machine keeps it warm once it's ready to go.

This machine would make a great gift. I already know someone who would LOVE one!
