The September 2017 Cleaning Calendar Freebie is available for download.
This year, at Homemaking Organized, it isn’t about buying new organizing tools (although I’m not totally against that) but just about cleaning and organizing what we have so that not only will it look nice but we can find our belongings.
Homemaking Organized often reflects what is happening in my own home and this past August my little family and I got a hankering to tidy up our own home.
So often things can get out of hand if you don’t stay on top of them and we were quickly headed that way even though we had only been in our home a couple of years.
In January we started off by decluttering all the bathroom cabinets and drawers in our home. We have two with such areas. Getting rid of the old and organizing what was left.
February was all about bedroom closets. Getting rid of clothes that no longer fit and organizing what’s left neatly by color and/or type is key.
In March we went deep and organized the drawers in our bedrooms. This was a good time to edit your belonging and maybe find some new outfits.
April was Spring Cleaning month
May started to turn warmer so we took things outside.
In June we just wanted to enjoy the summer so we kept things simple and only worked on a few cleaning details during the week.
July started us thinking of the Fall to come so we cleaned up Home Offices, Homeschool Rooms, and Craft Rooms.
August wasn’t about organizing the house but about setting up routines for a smoother Fall and Back to School season.
And now here is September. We’re back to a simple cleaning calendar to keep up with the Back to School season.
