My daily Bible reading has taken a turn, instead of just plowing through the scriptures, now when I come to a new book in the Bible, I reach for my Books of the Bible At-a-Glance from Teach Sunday School to give me an overview of the book I’m about to read.

Members of the Homeschool Review Crew were recently given access to these Printable Books of the Bible “Summary Sheets”

What are they?

Why I Wanted to Check out Books of the Bible At-a-Glance

Lately, as I have been studying the Bible more, I’ve found myself wanting to know a bit about the thought behind each book. In my church I appreciate that our pastors give a bit of history behind a passage, or the person in the passage before diving in. It helps so much to give a deeper understanding of what we are reading. I find myself taking better notes and having a great appreciation for what I am reading.

In my own personal Bible reading time, instead of just diving in and reading away, I thought it would be nice to have an overview of the the Bible book I am in.

We’ve been in 2 Timothy in our Bible study group so being able to quickly get an idea of what this book is about lets me keep that in the back of my mind as we work our weekly studies.

Sometimes being so caught in the scriptures we can fail to notice simple things such as this was a letter to Timothy from Paul towards the end of his life. He’s passing on wisdom.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

~2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

Note: I’m not exactly sure what version of the Bible the scripture references on the At-a-Glance sheets are in.

Personal Study or Group Use

I am using these resources in my own personal study and to share what I know with my immediate family, but I can easily see them being of good use in a group Bible Study for young people or adults.  The license gives you permission to use them in a small group setting. They are colorful and easy to read but yet pack a lot of information in that one little sheet.
