How I Used Math Refresher for Adults
The past few years I have thought that a math refresher would be a great idea. Obviously I never looked too deeply because I had no idea this existed!
And I’m not the only one who thinks this is a great idea. When I first got my copy of the Math Refresher for Adults both my husband and my mother spotted the book on my desk, picked it up, and expressed a desire to use it when I was done! You see adults need math refreshing too.
Last year my daughter started in algebra and this would have been so helpful back then. Even so it’s not too late. My daughter is still doing Algebra and believing her mom remembers all this like the back of her hand so algebra is the topic I started with.
The instructions say to work no more than an hour at a time and to copy the problems (neatly) on to paper so that is what I did.
I didn’t use the online video lessons because I like to torture myself but I did take a look at them.
The instructions in the book are a little hard to understand as to how to access the videos but I managed to figure it out. There is also access information for strictly algebra lessons.
I can see so many ways this resource is useful. Not only in getting up to snuff so you can help your child with their schoolwork but also for those taking tests standardized tests, placement exams, tutors, and yes for sure homeschooling parents.
I think every parent, homeschool or not, needs Math Refresher for Adults on the shelf.
