Good2Grow 100% Fruit Juice and Fruit and Veggie Blends – Review

good2grow-logoWhat kid doesn’t love juice?

During these hot summer months my daughter is more parched than usual. She’s loves her water but sometime she loves a good gulp of juice more. Who doesn’t?

It was a good day when I was offered the chance to review these new, more wholesome, juices from Good2Grow.

It’s always nice when a manufacturer produces a product with your child in mind.

If you’ve ever cared for a young child you know how some of the additives in foods geared towards them can cause adverse reactions from hyperactivity to skin rashes.

Good2Grow is a new set of kids beverages created by a family owned and operated company in Atlanta, Georgia that don’t contain any added sugar, high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

There are six varieties of flavors including my all time favorite 100% Apple Juice, 40% less sugar Apple Juice and purified water, Organic 100% Apple Juice, Tropical Fruit Medley V-Blend, 100% Fruit Punch, and Strawberry Kiwi V-Blend.

The portable juice bottles also include many cartoon characters that kids are familiar with. The characters were secondary for us as my daughter is actually not familiar with these characters (except Hello Kitty which wasn’t available at our store).

The drinks come in three sizes, 4 oz, 6 oz and 8 oz although our store only had one size.

I found the juices in the regular juice aisle in my favorite Safeway store. We got the Apple Juice and the Strawberry Kiwi V-Blend. Being the diligent mother that I am of course I had some of the juice myself. They are not as sickly sweet as your usual juices with high fructose corn syrup added.

For the Strawberry Kiwi Medley V-Blend the ingredients list Water, Apple, Carrot, and Beet Juice Concentrate. Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid (or Vitamin C), Natural Flavor, Vitamin E (I think the synthetic form), and Vitamin A (yeah I know where is the strawberry? Maybe in that Natural Flavor)

The Apple Juice just contains apple juice, water, natural flavors, citric acid, and ascorbic acid. And depending upon which variety of apple juice you buy (the 40%  less sugar contains 60% juice as opposed to the regular which has 100% apple juice)

Pretty good and small list for a juice blend.

You’ll like that the bottles are BPA-Free, non GMO and recyclable and dishwasher safe. Oh! And reusable.

The Fruit Punch and Apple Juice drinks are 100% juice and the Apple Juice is also USDA certified organic.

For the V-Blend juices they contain at least 22% less sugar than regular juice blends and also contain one serving of fruits and vegetables (vegetables!!!) In addition to 100% of your child’s daily Vitamin C intake.

Did I mention that the sippy tops are spill proof? A trademarked SippaTop gives mom peace of mind that spills won’t happen and you reuse the tops with each pack of juice you buy.

Good2Grow is priced from $2. 49 to $2.99 for sippy cup and from $2.99 to $3.49 for the refill pack.

So now you probably want to know how the juice tastes and did I notice any adverse reactions from my daughter right?

These juices are not as sweet as your regular store bought juices for kids. We drank the Tropical Fruit V Blend and the Apple Juice I thought that would be a problem for my daughter but she didn’t mind it and in fact commented on it and how she liked it. We are not daily juice drinkers and only regularly drink juice on Sundays so maybe this lack of juice in her life made it not an issue for her. I tried them myself and noted the difference but was not bothered by it.  Note that we did water her juice down (yes on those Sundays) for many years and even now she doesn’t drink juice until she’s had a glass of water first.

I also didn’t notice any marked hyperactivity or rashes. She can tend to break out or get quick hives from stuff that has additives or just settle wrong her. I didn’t notice any of that here.

I might buy it again but I don’t know if I would have initially paid for the doll head thing. It would be nice if they had a non-cartoon feature and a refill pack that came with the add on sippy top in the first place. The added veggies are nice and would sway me as opposed to the other juices.
