Menu Plan Monday December 7, 2015
Greetings:
Happy Monday! We’re well into December and for some reason I’ve been all about bread. This past week I shamelessly baked 4 different kinds of breads. My family loves me and we’re enjoying the feast. Here’s what I baked up…
The Japanese Milk Bread was a last minute thing. While browsing Pinterest some lovely loaves came across my screen and upon further inspection and some research I discovered this fluffy white bread that was developed in Japan some time in the 90’s. It uses a milk/flour starter dough and is well loved in a few parts of Asia and from what I’ve seen all over the US too. I would have pictures for you but I’ve shared some with extended family and now all we have left is the heel! I’ll be making it again though so don’t worry. I imagine it makes some delicious sandwich bread but we didn’t make it that far.
I don’t know what came over me. All this is definitely not in the Trim Healthy Mama plan but I couldn’t help myself! A couple of these breads were made to go with specific meals. Usually I buy hamburger buns and pita bread but I thought I really should be using a few of those 10lb bags of flour I have tucked in the freezer. They all came out delicious so I hope you’ll visit the links above and make some bread for yourself (As long as you’re not eating gluten free that is. My sister isn’t exactly happy with me). All I can say is my dough scraper got a workout last week.
My Weekly Menu Plan:
This week on the menu I’m taking it easy. I want easy all week long and my menu plan reflects that.
Monday: Meatloaf
Tuesday: Oven Fried Chicken
Wednesday: Breakfast for Dinner
Thursday: Lentil Soup and Sandwiches
Friday: Quesadillas
