Menu Plan Monday October 19, 2015

menu-pan-monday-oct19Greetings:

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful week last week and some delicious meals to carry you through each day.

I know that I was supposed to make gumbo last week and I even bought the ingredients for it but it did not materialize. I will make it but probably not this week…maybe next.

I encouraging news I tidied up my pantry. It was a seat of my pants thing. I wasn’t even planning on cleaning it but I opened it and saw the mess one time too many.

I ended up tossing a few things. Making some rolling carts out of those unfinshed crates you can get at Joanne’s and some rogue wheels we had around, and labeling most everything with chalkboard tape. Woo hoo! We (my family) and I open the doors often and stare at how lovely it all looks. I highly recommend it.

Seasonal Ideas:

In Seasonal Ideas now is the time you want to be paying attention to what is on sale at the grocery store. We were able to pick up bags of Bob’s Red Mill flour fro $.88 at the store using a $1 off coupon on an already greatly reduced price. Since I’ve gone back to making my own bread this was a great deal. My freezer is now fully stuffed!

To help you out Sarah Titus has created these great monthly What To Stock Up on Lists. Here’s October’s.

My Weekly Menu Plan:

We’ve got a busy week in my household and things are pared down rather bare to accommodate that. I really have to put more than apple turkey burgers in my freezer!

Monday: Leftovers

Tuesday: Baked Chicken Nuggets and oven fries

Wednesday: Homemade Pizza

Thursday: Steak and Veggies

Friday: Ground Turkey Quesadillas
