Every week or so my day starts so soon after I wake up that taking breakfast on the go is the best option. Normally I reach for a fruit bar but that gets old after a while.

Recently I was sent several flavors of Fuel For Fire Fruit + Protein Smoothie packs to test drive and I immediately saw them as a possible option for that on the go breakfast

Tasting Fuel for Fire

Fuel For Fire Fruit + Protein Smoothie packs consistency is mushy. If that bothers you then know you will be sucking it out of a pack kind of like those apple sauces. My family initially scrunched up their faces when looking at it. But the yummy flavor descriptions won out.

After fighting off the masses (my husband) I chose Sweet Potato Apple for my first taste test. I decided on that flavor because I actually thought it would be the one I liked the least. I was pleasantly surprised. I expected it to be too sweet but in fact it was a bit tart along with the slight sweetness of the sweet potato. It was really good actually! Kind of like green apple with sweet potato if that makes sense.

Next up I chose Strawberry Banana. The banana flavor came through kind of strong with this one but it wasn’t unpleasant. I don’t always have a taste for banana but when I do this would be okay.

Finally I had the Coffee flavor pack. I don’t drink coffee on a regular basis but I do love the flavor. I made sure not to drink my tea so that I wasn’t over run with caffeine. The Coffee pack is unique in that it has 65mg of caffeine in it. The flavor of the the Coffee pack was rather tart. It wasn’t what I was expecting. Tart coffee. Because when I do drink coffee I like it to taste like dessert (cream, sugar, etc.). Once I adjusted to the flavor it was fine (not my favorite though).

My daughter caught me consuming one of the Fuel for Fire packs and stood there watching as if she wanted some but wasn’t sure. She was still on the shelf about the taste but I told her she would love it because the underlying flavor of most of them was apple and that IS her fruit.

She eats 3 to 4 apples a day. Why she gets colds I don’t know because she should be the healthiest human alive but I digress. So I was eating the Strawberry Banana when she came along. I gave her the pack to taste. And after having to wrench it out of her hands because she liked it so much she was inhaling it she mentioned that she would really like a chocolate banana flavor. Well kudos for her I still have two of those left so I told her they would be hers.

That’s what happens when your review products with a family. They call dibs on the good stuff.
