Keeping Food Fresh in your Refrigerator with Ozeri {Product Review}
My food vacuum machine bit the dust a couple of years ago and I’ve never got around to getting another one. As much as I loved the expense that big price just hasn’t fit into our budget yet.
Recently I was sent a pack of Ozeri INSTAVAC Nesting Food Storage Containers to review.
These cool containers provide instant vacuum freshness without pumps, motors or confusing parts (not that my machine was confusing). Once you’ve added your food and put the top on simply press down on the lid and air is forced out via the one-way valve.
There is a little valve on top and this patented valve removes excess air out of the container when you press down on it. This reduces naturally occurring bacteria; It also releases pressure to prevent spills and splatters if you choose to microwave your food.
The wave pattern on the bottom of each container keeps cut fruit and vegetables elevated from water and juices which usually make the fruit go bad faster.
There is also a handy date dial allows you to record when your food was first stored and monitor the days kept in the refrigerator.
These containers are also BPA-free, stain-resistant, shatter-proof and as transparent as glass (sort of). You can use them in the freezer, the microwave, and they are dishwasher safe.
I took Ozeri INSTAVAC Nesting Food Storage Containers for a test drive in my kitchen recently.
I was sent a four pack of these containers. They came nested together.

I would tell you that I stored some little miniscule food item in these containers but the truth is I’ve been using them for most everything! I love them! Mostly leftovers and some applesauce I made. I love them.

- Put your food in the Ozeri INSTAVAC Nesting Food Storage Container Set
- Put on the top and close the side flaps
- Next press the sides of the top down
- You will hear a whistle as the excess air comes out of the container through the little seal at the top
- Note that the bubble is now depressed and store your food in your refrigerator or freezer!
- Voila!
