Building a Framework is no longer available but don’t freak out.

For starting a fabulous new blog I highly recommend Suzi Whitford’s BLOG BY NUMBER course. You can read my review on it here >>> Homemaking Organized’s Blog by Number Review.

(but if you specifically want a course from Abby Lawson, because she is awesomely organized check out her new course…

Sometime along the way, as a homemaker, you may find yourself wanting to branch out and do something that uses a bit of your creativity and all those skills you use around the home and with your children.

I have had so many people tell me, “I want to start a blog, but…”

Many homemakers turn to blogging because blogging almost seems to be too good to be true.

Meal Planning 5 Day Bootcamp

Share about what you do and love each day and help pay the family bills on top of it? Well for some this is actually reality. They have discovered how to bring the two together and have created a profitable business doing it.

So maybe you’ve realized that and want to try your hand at it.

I say go for it!

It’s one of the few business you can start with fairly no money (or very little money because I do recommend purchasing a domain name and hosting) down.

But for many it’s not intuitive. And the game changes often. It can be frustrating and time consuming if you let it.

My Blogging Story

Oh how I wish back when I started my website, which then moved to a blog, that there had been someone to hold my hand and walk me through this maze. My sister did her best but she didn’t have a blog and could only really help with the technical background stuff (which was a big help).

I was a bundle of nerves when I first started my blog. It was actually what is called a static website and my sister talked me through it. I would call her daily and often and she would come over and help me navigate through this new world. I was using a different platform (as opposed to WordPress) called Joomla at the time and it was such a HUGE learning curve. On top of that I wondered would people actually read what I had to say? Would I be able to grow my site? And there seemed to be so much to learn! Could I really figure it all out?

For me, back then, it wasn’t about earning money but just about having a creative outlet. If I had been trying to earn money I would have failed miserably and given up.

I did eventually learn how to manage my site and keep things going.  And even earn a bit of money! But the fear of failing is real and one of the things that hold a lot of people back from blogging.

Your Turn: Start a Blog

Is this fear holding you back?

Blogging does push you out of your comfort zone. I will admit. There are some things that I don’t compromise on but I’ve gained an incredible creative outlet and learned so much! I’ve discovered that if I have an interest well voila! someone else has that interest too and what I say may help them make a choice or feel better about a choice that they’ve made. I’ve been able to impact people all around the world and made friends far and wide. And I’ve been able to earn money in the world of homemaking!… how crazy is that?!

But you don’t have to do it alone.  Abby at Just a Girl and Her Blog, and her husband are full time bloggers, and they really have a heart for helping people start and grow their blogs.

They have recently released a third version of their eBook/course Building a Framework:The Ultimate Blogging Handbook, which is specifically geared toward helping new bloggers get started.

I had purchased Framework Version 2 a little over a year ago and let it sit on my hard drive for months. Then a few months ago I loaded it to my kindle and took it on a trip with.  I didn’t plan on doing work on vacation but Abby’s well written blogging resource had me hooked.  It changed the way I think about my blog and what I have to bring to the table.

You may have even noticed that I had the book linked in my sidebar. For new bloggers and even ones wanted to clean things up a bit I found it was an excellent resource to walk you through growing your blog.

Well now Building a Framework:The Ultimate Blogging Handbook v.3 is even better! I got to dive into this complete blogging course recently and it is definitely a great tool for teaching about the technical elements, how to start and grow your social media channels, how to drive more traffic to your site, work with brands, grow an email list, and so much more! Abby and hubby have outdone themselves for sure!

Years ago I had to take the time to figure out all of the different areas of blogging from scratch. It was time consuming and burnt me out. But you don’t have to go the same route Building a Framework will guide you each step of the way.

What’s in the Building a Framework Ecourse?

Building a Framework eCourse contains 8 modules (each with several lessons) and 10 Bonuses including the Building a Framework eBook and a lesson on making printables (just thought I would throw that out there because I’ve had several questions on how to make them).

Here are the modules….

  • Foundation
  • Branding
  • Technical Setup
  • Your Email List
  • Content
  • Relationships
  • Social Media
  • Monetizing

Abby is so thorough it’s wonderful. I’m very impressed. Truly. She gives complete detail on every part of setting up your blog to thrive with video lessons and your Building a Framework eBook.

From picking your domain name to what types of posts you will write. Abby covers all the nitty gritty. Social media, taking good photos, building relationships, and begin organized as your blog turns into a business (if that is a goal for you).

The lessons are all done online through your Building a Framework:The Ultimate Blogging Handbook portal and you can check off once you’ve completed a lesson.  Abby speaks clearly and shows the history of her blog and how what she is teaching you works on her blog.

There are a lot of lessons so don’t expect to finish this course in a day. But when you do finish you will be completely setup and on a roll with your new blog!

I’ve had several friends ask me how to start a blog and instead of the piecemeal of resources I was going to give them I now point to this one ecourse which is a great resource for a beginning blogger.

So go do it!

If you have ever toyed with the idea of starting a blog, this a great time. And you don’t have to do it alone.
