About the Book: After a devastating heartbreak three years ago, genealogist and historical village owner Nora Bradford decided that burying her nose in her work and her books is far safer than romance in the here and now.

Unlike Nora, former Navy SEAL John Lawson is a modern-day man, usually 100 percent focused on the present. However, when John, an adoptee, is diagnosed with an inherited condition, he's forced to dig into the secrets of his ancestry.

John enlists Nora's help to uncover the identity of his birth mother, and as they work side by side, this pair of opposites begins to suspect that they just might be a perfect match. But can their hope for a future survive their wounds from the past?

My Review: This book got me back into reading Contemporary Christian fiction. Although it's a little light on the Christian aspect (what isnt') it is clean and a great summertime read. This is chick lit for sure.

Becky Wade is one of those authors that knows how to write her female characters with all the quirky bits that we all have. love, and laugh at. You can relate to what she's thinking and empathize with her a bit based on your own life experiences.

I loved the small town setting and the everybody knows everybody's business aspects in this story.  only adds to the ambiance of the story and brooding hero finishes up the scene.

Nora is a great main character. She's not a traditional beauty and really comes across as frumpy to John at first. She loves her research and has had her heart broken by her former fiance who is with someone Nora sees as being perfect. She just crawls in her shell and stays there.

John, is yes this he-man military guy, but! He's an adoptee. Being an adoptive mother this part of the story probably touched me more than any other. His search for his birth mom and how he came to be just made me think and pray all the more for my own daughter's story.

Yes I enjoyed this!

And can I just say the cover? Totally fits the story. Totally. I would like that dress.

If you like Contemporary Christian fiction where the girl always gets her guy you will fall into True to You with no problems (and look forward to book 2 like I am).
