The One Product That Makes Sure I Travel in Comfort

In a season of grief I found myself having to travel across country several times a year to help family with details of life.

I like to say I grew up on an airplane. My father's job required quite a bit of traveling and so we often made trips across country and overseas to live or just spend time with him.

As I get older I have those changes many of us experience, hot flashes. I have found many ways to cope with them and some work better than others. My body seems to be in a competition with whatever supplement I'm taking and soon they are almost useless.

The one item that wins every time though is the fan.

I love fans!

I have quite the collection at home.

They all serve different functions but this post is about one of the ones I travel with ( also travel with a neck fan).

What I was looking for in a Travel Fan

Traveling cross country is no joke. Going through TSA is never fun and just juggling your baggage from car to check in and beyond is exhausting.

I needed something

• I could carry easily (a must)
• Was rechargeable (I don't like dealing with batteries) so I could set it up anywhere
• Had several settings depending upon how hot I was
• Was easy to clean
• Could rotate (sometimes you need that rotation)

What I landed on was the Gaiatop Portable Pedestal Fan

Originally I chose the Gaiatop Portable Pedestal Fan for the simple facts that it was a travel fan ,that came with a case, it rotated, and it was in my price point.

It's been over 6 months with this fan and its become one of the favorites in my collection of personal fans.

Why I like this fan for Travel

I love this fan traveling. It actually had a lot more features that I didn't know I needed. Now I'm spoiled.

• It has a case for easy grab and go. The case holds the charging cable and the remote.
• Yes! It has a remote! Which makes it easy to change the settings from anywhere in the room (you have to point it right at the base)
• It's rechargeable which was a must for me but it lasts for hours. It's listed as having, “13-74 hours of cool comfort”. I've used it overnight without it losing a charge.
• This particular fan has built in LED lights. Not something I was looking for but it's come in handy in dark situations. There are 3 brightness levels. Great when you have to look for something in the middle of the night.
• The fan has four speeds. I usually only use 1 and 2 for perfect comfort but it can be stronger.
• This fan is quiet. I do like a little bit of white noise when I am sleeping. This fan is quieter than most fans I've used. So if you're looking for quiet, in my personal opinion, this is a quiet fan. My husband doesn't usually know it's even on.
• It has a telescoping stand so I can use it on a tabletop or on the floor. Love that!
• This fan has a night or sleep setting. I discovered this the first night I was using it and that blue light was bothering me. Click the little moon emoji on the remote and voila! Light off and now I can sleep.
• And last but not least this fan has two ports. One for charging it and one where you can charge items! Say what??!! Yes! I've charged my phone from this fan. This fan has a big batter at 16000mAh so it may take a little time to charge but it's worth it.
• And the front is easy to pop off so I can clean it. Yay! I also use my electric blower for all my fans.

6 Months in is this Still the Fan for Me?

I bought this particular fan in January and have used it almost every day since. Would I buy it again?

Truthfully there are sooo many travel fans on the market that it can sometimes be hard to make a decision. But some things that would put this at the top of my list if I had to do this again are…

• The rating. I tend to look at the number of start first and then ratchet down to read the (hopfully) true reviews. I've already looked at the features so I look at things people don't like.
• A few people had issues with the blade breaking. With Amazon's return policy and this happening early on I took the chance. Mine has been sturdy. Honestly the blades look thick so not sure how that is happening. I'm past return but I love my fan and it's been great!
• Price. Right now the Gaiatop Portable Pedestal Fan is on a limited deal. I bought it at Full Price (I can hear my husband making a joke about this).
• Places I've used this fan. For travel of course. On both coasts. In my kitchen while cooking. Overnight in my bedroom. Outside on the backporch when temps got really high. On a picnic. While I workout. And right now while I write this post.

My Gaiatop Portable Pedestal Fan lives most of the time on my desk and provides cool air daily while I work from home.
