Menu Plan Monday August 3, 2015
Greetings: Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend. I spent this weekend getting some yard work done. And hopefully working off some pounds.
I had my husband fire our yard service (they were doing an awful job) and told him to pay me to get the yard nice and pretty. I’ve yet to be paid but our lawn looks so much better so that’s all the payment I need (for now).
During my morning yard ministrations I was also able to meet one my sweet neighbors who took me on a tour of her oasis of a back yard. We have similarly designed back yards so it was nice to see what I might be able to accomplish with a little time and effort. It’s so wonderful and cozy. We shared some tips and ideas and I feel better having met her.
So now I have some ideas in my head of how to add finesse to our backyard in addition to the vegetables I’m growing.
Seasonal Ideas:
Speaking of vegetables we’ve been eating solely from the garden as far as produce is concerned for the past few weeks. This has dropped several dollars off the grocery bill and it’s been nice to eat such fresh fare on a daily basis.
A few days ago my husband commented over and over on how good the dinner I made was and the great taste of the fresh from the garden vegetables. I concur. As I lamented over and over how I’m comfortable in the cushy air conditioning and he’s out in 100 degree heat fixing air conditioners he reminded me that my ministry is at home and not to belittle what I do for the family.
So, whelp, that’s a post for another day.
Today is about food. My daughter’s favorite topic.
And just in case you need ideas for that bumper crop of zucchini I found a great post for you 35 Skinny Zucchini Recipes and 30 Delicious Zucchini
