And now before I give you my thoughts on the book WHICH I JUST FINISHED LAST NIGHT! Let’s talk about the gist of the first book in this new series call Chesapeake Valor what it’s about…

About the Book:

In college, Griffin McCray and his four best friends had their lives planned out. Griffin and Luke Gallagher would join the Baltimore PD. Declan Gray would head to the FBI, and Parker Mitchell would go on to graduate school as a crime scene analyst. But then Luke vanished before graduation and their world–and friendships–crumbled.

Now Griffin is a park ranger at Gettysburg, having left life as a SWAT-team sniper when a case went bad. The job is mostly quiet–until the day he captures two relic hunters uncovering skeletal remains near Little Round Top. Griffin just wants the case to go away, but charming forensic anthropologist Finley Scott determines that the body is modern–a young social justice lawyer missing since spring–and all evidence points to the work of an expert sniper.

When FBI agent Declan Gray takes over the case, past and present collide. Griffin soon realizes he’ll need to confront some of the darkest days of his life if he–and those he cares about–are going to escape a downward spiral of murder that crosses continents.

My Review: This book starts right off in the action and captured my interest from page one. Right away I was in and enjoying this book. Dani weaves an intriguing tale.

There are several characters in this first installment of the Chesapeake Valor series but this first book focuses on Finley and Griffin. Both hold secrets from their past that make it difficult to move forward but working on this cold case together helps them both to heal.

Cold Shot reads like an episode in your favorite television crime drama gone clean with a sprinkling of Christian faith thrown in. It’s nice to see characters fall to their knees instead of into a bottle or something worse.

The action starts from page one of this book and even when the case is solved there is more to come.

I enjoyed watching the team come together and I’m definitely looking forward to Book 2 in Chesapeake Valor.

Dani has also put together some great tools for reader of Cold Shot
