The special little girl in my life turns 11 this week and in honor of her birthday I have a nice a giveaway for other preteen girls. So if you know a special young lady with a sweet spirit (or if you just want it to be sweet) and a love for books with faith, a little mystery, and a lot of fun, read on and enter please.

About the Books: Glimmer Girls
Readers will join twins Mia and Maddie, and their little sister, Lulu, as they travel the country finding adventure, mystery, and mischief along the way.  Together with their father, famous mother, singer Gloria Glimmer, and their slightly wacky nanny, Miss Julia, the smart and sassy sisters learn lessons about being good friends, telling the truth, and a whole lot more.

In book 1 the three sisters must solve a mystery that takes place in London. While in London on vacation where their mom is having a concert some paintings have been stolen from the National Gallery and the girls decide they must be the ones to solve the mystery.

In book 2 the girls are in San Diego and must find out who is helping animals escape the Captain Swashbuckler’s Adventure Park.

My Review: It’s always nice to find Christian fiction for my pre-teen girl. This sweet series by gospel singer Natalie Grant ticks all the right buttons for my little girl. Three sweet little girls trying to right a wrong in the big city of London. Each girl has her own unique personality and I have a sneaky suspicion they are based on Natalie’s own daughters.  My daughter finds these books cute and funny. Her favorite character is Maddie the problem solver. Even though your young girl can learn some good lessons from these books be sure to talk them over with your daughter. One of the characters, Maddie does something not so smart and it’s best to revisit this situation with young preteens (Is that vague enough for you?).

We haven’t gotten to book 2 yet but as an animal lover my daughter is sure to enjoy this one.

This is a cute series and if you struggle to find good reads for your young Christian girl I think she will enjoy having this one in her personal library.

From the Author:  “Glimmer Girls is a fiction series that I have created with my daughters.  The storyline is about three girls who go on tour with their singing mom.  I have no idea where I came up with that plot!  It’s fun for my little girls to help with the content because they actually live that life.  Glimmer is the last name of the family, but it also has a special meaning.  It is a light that is never extinguished.  Sometimes it may glimmer a little bit brighter, sometimes it may glimmer a little bit dimmer, but it never goes out.  I felt like that was such a perfect description for all of us.  We all have a light on the inside and depending on the day, sometimes it’s bright and sometimes it’s dim.  That is the message I wanted girls to get from this book.  You don’t always have to be shining bright, some days are going to be more difficult than others, but Jesus has put a light in you that will never go out.”
