Momsmeet recently sent me some probiotic hand sanitizer from Desert Essence. I am already familiar with Desert Essence products. I enjoy using their hair products and Jojoba oil. And I was excited to try this new, to me, concept of a Probiotic Hand Sanitizer. I mean why put probiotics in hand sanitizer?
Healing our guts is the latest in taking care of yourself and being as healthy as you can be. Learning about probiotics and how they can help your digestive system is important.
These days many people are adding probiotics to their diets. Probiotics are actual organisms that impact digestion and help you enjoy a healthy gut. To add them to you r diet you can eat fermented foods (such as saurkraut), eating yogurt or cultured foods, and by taking probiotic supplements.
Why Probiotics in Hand Sanitizer?
We've been hearing for a while that using so much hand sanitizer is actually not that beneficial for you. That your body becomes used to such a pristine state and makes you more prone to catching the coughs and colds around you. With Desert Essence Probiotic Hand Sanitizer the addition of probiotics, or good bacteria to your hand sanitizer is instead supposed to strengthen you system so that it can fight against the bad bacteria. While the sanitizer also kills the bad bacteria.
About Desert Essence Probiotic Hand Sanitizer
Desert Essence Probiotic Hand Sanitizer comes in three formulas…
- Tea Tree Oil and Lemongrass
- Tea Tree Oil
- and Tea Tree Oil and Lavender
The ingredients in it include water, several good for you bacteria (such as kefir, Lactobacillus), essential oils, and citric acid.
To use it you just apply a little into your hands and rub together until the product has dried out on your hands.
To try it out of course I went straight for the lavender blend, my favorite scent. The hand sanitizer is a clear liquid gel that leaves and pleasant scent on your hands once you've rubbed it in. It didn't dry my hands out but actually left them a teeny bit moisturized.
I like to keep one of the small bottles on my desk while working, and one in my purse. I also gave my husband a bigger bottle to carry with him at work. He visits several homes each day so keeping germs at bay is very important in his line of work.
Does this sound like something you would like to use this Fall/Winter season?
